Enhanced Illustration: World Space Week - Colour

All the colour is finally down for the World Space Week animation, the next step is to get it animated, expect to see the final product soon!
For now heres the finished coloured product, including logos and tag lines.

I tried to keep a purple/red gradient across the entire image, it really helps to lock down the other colours used, keeping a nice colour consistency, rather than a mis-match of colours. This can be an issue when colouring something with such a wide colour palette. My choices where to either use a smaller but incorrect palette, or try and lock all the colours down using two, more dominant colours. I decided on the second option, using a purple/red gradient layer on 25% helped create this effect, whist keeping the scientifically correct colours.

Enjoy!

Enhanced Illustration 3: World Space Week - Sketch and Ink

Preparation for the final animation in my 'Enhanced Illustration' Series has begun. I've decided to bundle the sketch and ink work into this post together in order to show a better comparison. So this final animation is to advertise 'World Space Week' another annual event, i felt it fit the theme of the previous animations and also had a lot of interesting things to work with, what with space being so.. vast!

Theres not a huge difference between sketch and ink here, as I was actually rather happy with how the composition came over in the the sketch, see for yourself:
And heres the Ink work it later developed into.

New Project: Enhanced Illustration 2: National Forest Week

I've decided to move forward with the idea of making the Enhanced Illustrations into a mini series. Hopefully I should get three finished in time for my deadline. The second of which will be for 'National Forest Week'. This time the original sketch changed drastically from what the final product became, so I'll include both for interests sake.
The first sketch turned out to be too ambitions in terms of what I then had to achieve during animation, which is the main reason for the change.
